| Inhalt : |
Mathematical modeling is an issue which is typically
underestimated during mathematical studies. In this seminar, we will meet
real life modeling problems for which specific questions are fomulated and
mathematical solutions are searched. An incentive for taking part in this
seminar is the chance to participate within the annual contest in
mathematical modeling organized by COMAP (February 5--9, 2004). At
most, two student teams consisting of three undergraduate (= below
diploma) students can be enrolled in this contest from our university. The
price for the winning team of the contest is free travel and participation
at the annual meeting of the Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematics
(SIAM) - 2004 in Portland, Oregon,
USA. |
